Driving with a dream of spring Soil and snow rest mingling Ride along this wet old song I turn to pass and won't be long Trees budding beavers gnawing I can't wait for roads a thawing

There is no trail to mark the way Only frozen snow to light the day We slip and fall with every step Following the blazes along the trek

From the tops of frozen hills I'm reminded of the thrills Of spirit sweeping up my soul Firming up my treasure trove These jewels shine like morning light Forever sparking day or night The hike is long and may be cold But at the top I will stand tall and old

Sun soaking winters stand Peaks crack whips and winds fan Sheltered in these stout old trees I admire sky, blue and free

Frozen ghost atop the world Stop your painting of the fold Dress my hand in glittered white Where souls adore the sight

Frozen eyes and tired sighs Trees walk silently on In chilling dawn sight sleeps on Snow begs softly for light
